Each cohort is a dated group with a name, a start, a finish and a number of places, and it has its own purchase link and QR code that you can put on your website, in your newsletter or on a slide at an event. Everybody who joins gets the same start day and the same finish day, regardless of when they bought. The cohort also has its own group chat, and attendance is recorded for every group session, so you and each member can see who was there.
When the cohort is full it stops selling, and anybody who arrives after that is pointed to the next one. So if you say there are ten places, there are ten places, and you do not have to invent a countdown to make people decide.
Schedule a group session once and it appears in every member’s app with their own calendar invitation, shown in their own time zone, with the video link next to it.
The cohort has its own chat where members talk to each other and to you between sessions, and every group session records who attended. Each member sees their own attendance (e.g. “attended 5 of 8”) in their app, and you see the whole group’s.
In our experience what wears coaches down with group programs is not the coaching, it is the delivery, i.e. sending the same emails, the same worksheets and the same reminders again and again, cohort after cohort. Here you set the program up once, and every cohort you run afterwards gets it delivered for you, personally addressed to each member, on the right day and in your words.
Longer programs generally work better when members also meet in breakout groups of three or four, e.g. as accountability partners or peer coaching triads. You name the groups and say what they are for, and the platform takes care of the rest:
Split the cohort into groups of three or four for peer coaching or accountability. Each breakout group has its own private chat and its own exercises, so the members keep each other going between your sessions. Much of the value of a group program is the group itself, and this gives it somewhere to happen.
In a larger group it is easy to lose track of the quiet ones. Your coach app shows you who attended each group session, which exercises each member has done, how their habits are going and what they have written to you, so you can reach out to the person who has gone quiet before they drop out.
Alongside the group, every member has their own goals, their own journal and a private chat with you that the rest of the cohort cannot see. So people get the energy of the group and the privacy of one-to-one coaching at the same time.
Selling a group program to one company for its own people? That is team coaching, which adds a sponsor view and a progress report for the company.
